Cassandria Blackmore, "Dionysios" (2008) [Reverse Painted Glass]
God is the Light of the heavens and the earth,
The parable of His Light is as if there were a niche,
And within it a Lamp: The Lamp enclosed in Glass;
The glass as it were a brilliant star;
Lit with the oil from a blessed Tree,
An Olive, neither of the East nor of the West,
Whose oil is luminous, though no fire touched it;
Light upon Light!
God guides to the Light whom He will.
Qur'an, 24:35 (610-632)

Warm greetings of peace,
The exquisite juxtaposition of the verse and painting, each one illuminating the other further, tears my heart open with joy.
Thank you.
Warmly,
Baraka
